SHOPPERS in Nuneaton are being warned that opportunist purse-snatchers are operating in the town.
LED Street Light LU02-56WPolice today advised women, especially pensioners, not to leave their handbags on shopping trolleys.
The warning came after a 68-year-old Nuneaton woman was the victim of a snatch in the town's Sainsbury store, in Vicarage Street.
Steel RingsShe was shopping in the store on Tuesday morning with her handbag draped on the trolley. She discovered her purse had been stolen.

A Warwickshire police spokeswoman said: "Opportunist thieves are targeting elderly shoppers.
"We advise people to deter criminals by ensuring all handbags and shopping bags are secured or zipped and not left on shopping trolleys, even for just a few seconds."
